Deemed rates: why they hurt and how to avoid them

Deemed rates are charged when there’s no active contract in place — often after a move, supplier change, or missed renewal.
They are significantly higher than contracted unit and standing rates. Suppliers apply them to cover risk and admin.
To avoid them: share your contract end dates, submit opening/closing reads, and speak to us ahead of any change of tenancy.
We can place you on a fixed or appropriate pass‑through tariff within days, coordinating paperwork and supplier handover.
